TAF Education Fund logoR. Scott Oswald, managing principal of The Employment Law Group® law firm, spoke as a panelist at the 13th annual conference of the non-profit arm of Taxpayers Against Fraud (TAF), a group that champions whistleblowing as a tool to fight fraud against the U.S. government.

Along with David Marshall, a partner at Katz, Marshall & Banks, Mr. Oswald discussed recent developments in whistleblower law — and in particular, new provisions and legal rulings that shield whistleblowers from retaliation by their employers.

The panel outlined the broad scope of recent federal legislation including the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act and the Affordable Care Act. Slides from the session are available on the TAF Web site.

The annual TAF conference is a highlight of the year for the whistleblower bar, drawing many attorneys to Washington, D.C., to share their legal experience and insights. It took place on October 23-25, 2013.
