The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers
2017-2023
The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a professional association that honors lawyers leading the field of labor and employment law nationwide. CLEL fellows are nominated by their peers after practicing in the field for at least 20 years. In 2017, Scott Oswald was nominated in his first year of eligibility. Two TELG principals are fellows of the association.

Chambers, a renowned legal directory, assesses lawyers and law firms all over the world through extensive research and interviews. It is considered by many to be one of the most difficult legal rankings for which to be selected. In 2021, two attorneys from The Employment Law Group® law firm joined the prestigious ranks. Both attorneys and the firm itself are ranked in Band 1, the highest ranking.

Northern Virginia Magazine Best Lawyers
2019-2022
In its 2021 issue, Northern Virginia magazine recognized Scott Oswald on its “Top Lawyers” list, which highlights lawyers in Northern Virginia and D.C. Honorees are selected based on nominations from other lawyers in the area. Mr. Carter and Mr. Woodfield were previously recognized.

Washingtonian Top Lawyers
2013-2014, 2017-2022
In its December 2022 issue, Washingtonian magazine named three TELG principals to its closely watched “Top Lawyers” list. Scott Oswald, Nicholas Woodfield, and Adam Carter were recognized for their representation of employees against corporations. Mr. Oswald and Mr. Woodfield have previously been recognized on the list.

Since its first list in 2018, the well-known legal media company Lawdragon has recognized TELG attorneys as some of the nation’s top 500 plaintiff’s employment lawyers. All of TELG’s principal attorneys are among the elite based on “the views of peers and competitors.”

For the tenth year in a row, The Employment Law Group® law firm has been selected by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers for inclusion in their listing of “Best Law Firms.” The publications have said that the firm’s ranking — for employment law and litigation in Washington, D.C. — “signals a unique combination of quality law practice and breadth of legal expertise.”

Since 2012, attorneys from The Employment Law Group® law firm have been recognized by Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters. In the most recent survey, six of TELG’s principals were honored — and Scott Oswald was listed among the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers chooses its “outstanding attorneys” via a patented process that combines peer evaluations with independent research. About 5% of practicing lawyers in the U.S. are selected each year, with a smaller number recognized as “Rising Stars.” Five TELG attorneys have been recognized as Rising Stars.
