At The Employment Law Group law firm (TELG), we take your privacy seriously. This notice outlines the privacy practices our law firm follows for information gathered via our Web site at https://www.employmentlawgroup.com. In particular, it explains the following:
- What personally identifiable and sensitive information we collect;
- What other data we (or others) may collect;
- How we use that information;
- How we protect that information; and
- The choices you have, including how to access and update information.
Personally Identifiable & Other Sensitive Information
Personally identifiable information is data that can be used to identify, locate, or contact you individually. It includes items such as your name, e-mail address, and phone number.
We collect personally identifiable information via this site only if you supply it to us voluntarily via a link that triggers an email or phone call, or if you use a Web form to contact our firm or to chat with us.
Note that we also collect such information if you contact us separately from a visit to this Web site — by emailing, phoning, or messaging us via SMS or otherwise, for instance, or if you upload a file to us.
In addition to personally identifiable information, we may gather information about your legal matter that you provide to us via any of the methods mentioned above. We treat such information as confidential in strict accordance with our profession’s ethical rules for clients and prospective clients.
We use personally identifiable information only to interact with you regarding the matter about which you contacted us.
In particular, we don’t use personally identifiable information to contact you for marketing or promotional purposes, and we do not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone for any purpose, including marketing or promotion. We do not share personally identifiable information with anyone outside of our firm except for vendors and contractors who use it only to help us provide legal services.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Other Data that We Gather
Via server logs, cookies, and other technology, we also collect data about every visitor’s use of our Web site. This includes items such as the time each visitor arrived, the Internet “address” of each machine used to view our site, the type of browser and device used, the referring site, the search term used (if available), the pages viewed, the links clicked, and so on. Also, if a visitor arrives by clicking on a particular advertisement, we may record that fact. With one exception as noted below, none of this usage data is directly connected to any user’s personal identity.
We aggregate usage data in our own server logs and also in Google Analytics, which receives no personally identifiable information. We use Google Analytics to analyze the effectiveness of our Web site and our advertising. We do not use our site’s usage data for marketing or promotional purposes, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone for marketing or promotional purposes. The terms of our agreement with Google are here; Google’s commitment not to share our usage data is in Section 6.
The exception noted above: If you proactively contact our firm via our Web site, we may save some individual site usage data along with your name and other saved information. As an example, we may record the Web page from which you sent your query to us.
We do not share any usage data — whether aggregated or not, saved to your individual record or not — with anyone outside of our firm except for vendors and contractors who may use it only to help us provide legal services.
Third-Party Cookies
We don’t allow third-party ads or advertisers on our Web site. However, third-party vendors such as Google may use cookies to serve our firm’s ads elsewhere based on your visit to this Web site. No personally identifiable information is collected by these advertising cookies, and our firm does not have access to their content.
You can block third-party cookies by changing the settings of the browser that you use to visit our site. Here is a U.S. government page that explains how: https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/how-websites-apps-collect-use-your-information
Security of Your Information
We take many precautions to protect your information. For instance, our Web servers are hosted in a secure facility and use industry-standard encryption to communicate with your browser. Furthermore, if you share personally identifiable or other sensitive information with us via our Web site, this information is stored in a completely different secure environment and can be accessed only by authorized users.
Your Control Over Our Use of Your Information
We use any information we gather from you only in connection with the matter about which you contacted us. However, you can instruct us to stop using it at any time. In addition, you can do the following:
- Ask what personally identifiable information we have collected from you;
- Correct or delete any personally identifiable information we have collected from you;
- Express a concern you have about our use of information we have collected from you; and
- Instruct us not to contact you, either entirely or via a specific method.
To do any of these things, or if you have questions, just contact us. If you would prefer to use U.S. Mail, please write us at:
