Andrew D. Howell is an Associate at The Employment Law Group® law firm. At the firm he has worked on a variety of employment matters, including whistleblower retaliation, employment discrimination, executive compensation, wage and hour class actions, qui tam cases under the False Claims Act, and IRS whistleblower cases. He has also played active and supporting roles at trial and for mediations.
Mr. Howell joined TELG as a Litigation Law Clerk in March 2014. He was promoted to Associate after graduating from law school and becoming a member of the bar. Before joining TELG, Mr. Howell served as a Legislative Analyst in the government relations office of an advertising trade association. He worked on an array of legislative, regulatory, and legal issues, including online privacy, food marketing, and First Amendment commercial speech protections.
Mr. Howell graduated cum laude from Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law in May 2016 and received the CUA Law Alumni Association’s Class of 2016 Award. At CUA Law, he served as a Note and Comment Editor on the Catholic University Law Review. His article, “A First Amendment Right to Observe Elections: Fulfilling the Dream of Richmond Newspapers by Extending It to the Polling Place,” was published in 2016 in the Catholic University Law Review.
Mr. Howell also served on the board of the CUA Moot Court Association. In 2016 he authored a First Amendment problem for a national moot court competition featuring 24 law schools nationwide.
Mr. Howell received his Bachelor of Arts in Government from The College of William & Mary with a minor in History. He is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
