Daniel Trujillo Esmeral is an associate at The Employment Law Group® law firm. Mr. Trujillo Esmeral represents clients on a variety of employment matters, including employment discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, executive compensation, and cases brought under the False Claims Act. During his tenure at The Employment Law Group, Mr. Trujillo Esmeral has worked alongside TELG principals in proceedings before state and federal tribunals and administrative boards, including litigation before state supreme courts and federal courts of appeal.
Mr. Trujillo Esmeral received his Juris Doctor from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University. While an evening student, Mr. Trujillo Esmeral served in various leadership positions, including as managing editor of the George Mason University Civil Rights Law Journal, president of the Student Bar Association, and president and founder of the Latino/a Law Student Association. Mr. Trujillo Esmeral also participated in trial advocacy competitions as a member of the Trial Advocacy Board. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining TELG, Mr. Trujillo Esmeral worked in various legal capacities in Washington, D.C. area law firms since 2010.
Outside of work, Mr. Trujillo Esmeral is active in the Hispanic community and serves on the Student Affairs Committee of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia. He also has served as Mid-Atlantic regional director for the National Latino/a Law Student Association. Mr. Trujillo Esmeral volunteers for the Washington Lawyers’ Committee Workers’ Rights Clinic in employment-related cases in areas including unpaid wages, overtime, sexual harassment, termination, discrimination, workers’ compensation, family and medical leave, pension benefits, and criminal records.
Mr. Trujillo Esmeral is licensed to practice law in Maryland.
