TELG Attorneys Honored in Best Lawyers in America

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 21, 2025) — Based on high praise from their peers, every principal attorney at The Employment Law Group® law firm has been honored in the latest editions of The Best Lawyers in America and its Ones to Watch list.

This is the second year in which all seven TELG principals have been recognized. For R. Scott Oswald, the firm’s managing principal, and Nicholas Woodfield, TELG’s general counsel, the 2026 edition marks their 14th year being honored for their work in employment law.

Best Lawyers has published its rigorous peer rankings for more than three decades. In 2026, thousands of attorneys across the country participated in the voting process and over 31 million evaluations were analyzed. Nominees were selected based on feedback from lawyers in their practice area and region.

Only about 5% of practicing U.S. attorneys earn the title of “Best Lawyer.” TELG principal attorneys were honored as Best Lawyers in the following categories:

Ms. Chambers was recognized in the categories “Labor and Employment Law – Employee” and “Litigation – Labor and Employment.”

According to Best Lawyers, each Ones to Watch honoree “exemplifies strong discipline, reputation and professional respect, marking a key milestone early in their careers.”

Exceeded our expectations

When searching for an attorney I searched for someone who was knowledgeable in all matters of employment law, a stellar communicator and someone who would be aggressive when necessary and not afraid to “get his hands dirty”. I found those attributes and more in Scott Oswald.

As a legal professional and as a person he conducts himself in the most respectful and professional manner imaginable.

As my counsel he possessed an expertise in all areas of the law that pertained to my case and used his vast skill set to methodically create a plan that combined reasonable negotiations with out sacrificing the tactical leverage necessary to pursue successful litigation.

Attorney Oswald retains a loyal and dedicated staff that worked diligently on our behalf and always kept the lines of communications open. He possessed a great work ethic and was very sensitive to the urgency and sensitivity of our issues.

Mr. Oswald’s fortitude in fighting to preserve my right of access to the court system was compelling and matched only by his quick wit and compassionate demeanor.

A positive outcome was reached that exceeded our expectations. And these results were obtained in an efficient and timely manner.

I highly recommend Scott Oswald as a legal advocate for anyone who wishes to seek redress in our court system.

An anchor during some very stormy times

Over the last 18 months, Nick has provided me with representation that saved my job and has ensured my future retirement. During this process, I found him to be an anchor during some very stormy times.

Above and beyond my expectations

I retained Scott to represent me when my employment was terminated wrongfully. He did a thorough investigation of the case before agreeing to represent me. Within two weeks of agreeing to represent me, I had a settlement letter in my hand from my former employer. The terms of the settlement were far better than I had expected. Not only I received the maximum monetary compensation that I could, but I also received title to significant intellectual property that was in dispute. Scott went above and beyond my expectations to draft a settlement agreement that was very favorable for me and provided significant legal protection for any future claims.
